When Horizon Academic was founded in 2016, one of our first courses we developed was "Controversies in International Relations", taught by Dr. David Rezvani. The world has changed a great deal since then, and we're thrilled to announce our updated topics list for our international relations program! Just as before, our International Relations research source wrestles with the great perennial questions of International Relations. What are the causes of war and peace? What theories, patterns, and frameworks can best explain the behavior of states in the ever more complex and multipolar world of the 21st century? Can international governance solve collective action problems? What should foreign countries do in response to failed states? What demands does justice and human rights jurisprudence make on the system of today? What is the nature and future of great power competition? And how should we understand economic competition, systems of global trade, and interconnected supply chains in the context of International Relations? We grapple with these questions and more in Professor Rezvani's class, which he has previously taught at Harvard, MIT, Dartmouth, and Oxford.
